Pawsome Box!

Pawsome box reached out to us over Instagram and asked if we would like to receive one of their boxes to review. Of course we said YES!

Pawsome box is a monthly subscription box (or a one off box; you can choose how long you want to receive it for) full of 6 amazing products for you and your dog to enjoy. Typically you will receive: two types of treats, two toys and two care and hygiene products. If you would like more information or to order your very own box go to Pawsomebox !

For £5 off your first box use our code : ukbbwjmf

Recently we received our box and here's what we thought of it!

The Toys: Freddie loved these toys! He loves anything soft as he likes to hold soft toys in his mouth whilst he sleeps. The flip-flop was a hit; it squeaked and had a rope to chew on, unfortunately Freddie chewed it a little too much and it is now in toy heaven.

The Treats: Whilst they aren't the sort of treats I would pick up for Freddie myself, he enjoyed them and they were good sized packs, and Freddie seemed to really enjoy them.

The accessories: both of these are really handy for summer walks, the lead is the perfect length for walking to heel and walking along roadsides. I didn't manage to get a picture of Freddie using the water bottle with attached bowl but this is really handy for those hot summer walks!

Personally I think the box is great value for money, especially with our code. As if I was to go to pets at home and buy 6 similar items I would probably spend more money and the surprise element is really exciting, it's just like receiving six presents for your dog.

We would like to thank Pawsomebox and Emma for contacting us and sending us the box to try. Whilst we received this box for free all opinions are genuine and my own.

NEOH&NOBO

TREAT YO PUP

neohandnobo are an amazing new business who launched earlier this month. I found them on Instagram, I usually spend hours looking at other dogs and searching for things to buy for Freddie; he is a very spoilt and pampered pooch after all.  After scrolling through their instagram and reading their website it was only a matter of time before I placed an order.

Now, I'm not fussy by any means but when it comes to Freddie I try my best to ensure we feed him top quality food so simple, pure ingredients really do appeal to me and that is EXACTLY what neohandnobo have to offer. The treats are made with three main principles in mind: Simplicity, Naturalness and You and Your Pup. So what's not to love! For more information visit neohandnobo

They are an Artisan Bakehouse for dogs and that is definitely the vibe that comes across in their simple and rustic packaging. It really is an instagramers' dream.

This time I opted to try the Butternut X Vanilla Bean biscuits (kind of wanted to eat one myself, but Freddie wouldn't share) I also ordered a jar of 'the dog's butter'. If you follow us on instagram you will know that Freddie has recently been renamed 'goodboywait', this definitely wasn't the case with these treats, he had his nose straight into the dog's butter as soon as the lid was off and pinched a biscuit or two whilst I was taking pictures. I can't say I blame him, the treats and the dog's butter smelt divine.

I will definitely be ordering the Banana x Turmeric and Papaya x Pumpkin Seed biscuits for Freddie to try!

If you go down to the woods today...

There is nothing better than a weekend off work to go explore the great English countryside, pub lunch included. So today we took the opportunity to return to Chopwell Forest (we visited a few weeks ago).

So after a short drive we arrived in the carpark. Spacious and free. Despite the number of cars we only met a handful of other people in the woods. From the carpark there is a choice of three marked circular routes, this time we opted for the red walk.

All the routes are clearly marked with arrows to keep you on the right path. The paths are mostly even ground  and very easy to follow. It does look like there are paths 'off-road' that I'm sure will be explored in the future.

More information on the forest itself can be found here

Freddie absolutely loves exploring the forest: having a good old sniff, running in and out of the trees and in true spaniel manner getting his paws, belly and tips of his ears very very muddy. (He was far too excited to be his usual photogenic self, so here are a few pictures of him having a good old explore).

After a gentle stroll we made it back to the car park; muddy and hungry. Last time we visited we drove past The Red Kite, to our delight they are dog friendly. So we decided to stop there,  advertised as dog friendly with a sign by the door, welcoming dogs and their well behaved owners in, by the door there was a basket of towels to wipe down muddy paws and a polite notice asking to keep dogs off the carpet and furniture. The pub was cosy, warm and inviting and the food was delicious, Freddie sat under the table hoping for something to drop to the floor. There is a lovely little beer garden which I'm sure we will visit in the summer.

Dog Helios life jacket..

Like the majority of spaniels we meet at the beach, Freddie is usually part drowned rat, part sand monster combined. He loves the chase his ball into the waves lapping at the sand and has recently started to become more adventurous bounding a little further out.

Living in the North East the coastline is beautiful and we are extremely lucky but the waves can be a little rough.

Last week I had one of those heart in mouth moments, in which I almost wades into the sea after Freddie. Freddie got really brave and went further out for his ball then usual and started to make his way back into shore as a massive wave came over the top of him. If felt like a lifetime passed before his little head popped up and he doggy paddled back to shore. Whilst telling my mum about this ordeal she told me to buy him a life jacket, but being the spoilt little puppy he is, Nanna and grandad bought him one.

The life jacket we have is the Dog Helios dog go swimming life jacket and can be found on Amazon.

On the way back from a weekend in the North West, we called at a beach for a test run. The waves were big and we lost a tennis ball... but I must say, I definitely felt a lot more relaxed knowing that Freddie was a bit safer. Even though he didn't go for more than a paddle today. For a dog who doesn't really like wearing coats, Freddie was not bothered by the life jacket. I think he had a great time playing with his ball in the sand.

The beach we visited was Horden beach; in County Durham. This beaches has no dog restrictions, all year round.

I can't wait for Freddie to try it out when he eventually gets brave enough to go for a proper swim, hopefully on a trip into the Lake District but for now I will have peace of mind when he is playing in the waves should he be taken by surprise again.
